New Australian StreamStore

Today, we have released the new version of Taptu for Android phones and tablets; the biggest thing there, is a tailored StreamStore for our friends in Australia.

Our featured streams include a wide selection of topics relevant for Aussies, from Sports to Politics to Fashion and Tech. So if you live “Down Under” check it out.

We hope you find those relevant, but in any case, you can contact us on Twitter @Taptu, or our Facebook page, or via email [email protected].

Thanks a lot,

Hello Taptu fans:

We’ve been heads down here at Taptu to bring you our latest iOS version: 1.6.1 is now available to download. What’s new? Well, lot’s of things (listed below):

Updated Logo: It’s time we had a new logo to reflect as much as possible what the app is all about. We hope you like it.

Preview a Stream before you add it: Whether you are adding a Stream from the Topics or one you found after Searching, you can now Preview the Stream before you add it by tapping on the “eye” icon.

Add a Stream from the article page: Is the article you are reading around a topic you are passionate about? Our search engine is powerful enough to indicate which other Topic Streams the story you are looking at appears and lets you Add them directly from the article pages.

Support for Read It Later: You can now save articles you like to Read It Later – one of the best Apps out there to do so. Don’t forget you can always Bookmark those stories inside Taptu as well.

Alerts: If for whatever reason, Taptu servers are not working, we will immediately notify you with an alert. Another one will be sent to you when everything is back to normal.

Finally, we’ve tuned up the app even more, fixing a few bugs and making the overall Taptu experience speedier and more stable. We hope you enjoy the latest update.

Thanks, KP.

SURVEY SAYS… Taptu Needs Your Help!

Thanks for all of your feedback after our first and second releases of My Taptu over the last 10 weeks. Based on everything you shared with us, we’ve brought you some pretty important improvements like Google Reader Import, full article views on stories when they are available from the publisher, and full article views in your Twitter and Facebook streams. We’ve also added some neat functionality on your Facebook stream by giving you the ability to ‘Like’, ‘View Comments’ and ‘Post Comments’ on your Facebook Stream from within My Taptu. We’ve added more intuitive ways to refresh your content and made some improvements for the Retina iPhone 4 display as well.

So all in all, we’ve taken some pretty big steps forward in just a few weeks, but we want to go even further and need your help and candid feedback.

Today, Taptu is launching our first customer survey for My Taptu. Please take just a few minutes to click this link and tell us what you like and what you’d like to see improved in My Taptu.

We take your feedback seriously and would love to implement your ideas and suggestions into the product to make My Taptu your indispensable and favorite app you check many times a day, every day.

So if you’re Into It, Taptu It and tell us why. We’ll even throw a few rewards into the mix. If you complete the survey by January 24, 2011, we’ll drop your name into the Taptu Towers hat for a chance to win some Amazon gift certificates. Winners will be announced on that same day (24 January) and contacted by email.

Thanks for taking our survey and thanks for your time,
